リムジンサービスとは日本で言うところのハイヤーです。ニューヨークでは、空港へ行くときなどタクシーではなくリムジンサービスを利用する人が多いです。リムジンサービスは電話で予約しておくと、予約の時間にアパートのビルの前まで迎えにきてくれる。各リムジン会社とも空港までの料金はあらかじめ設定されており、だいたいマンハッタンからJFKまでは$40〜$50、ラガーディア空港までは$30〜$40、ニューアーク空港までは$40〜$50。この基本料金にプラスして、通った橋またはトンネルの料金とチップを目的地について降りるときに支払う。チップの目安はだいたい料金の20%.。空港への送迎サービスりの他にも、市内、市外観光やショッピングのサービスもあり、通常は時間ごとに料金が設定されている。
また、
郊外に住んでいて帰りの電車がなくなったときや、ブルックリンやクイーンズ、スタテンアイランドなど、タクシーがつかまりにくい場所では、カーサービスがよく利用されており、通常は目的地ごとに料金が設定されている。電話で迎えを頼むときに、目的地を伝えると料金を教えてくれる。チップの目安は15〜20％。
